Brief Overview

One unusual vessel type appears in this period. It is a narrow cylindrical shaped jar with a hole in the center of a flat base. On the entire exterior it usually has deep ribbing with finger type impressions all along the ribs. Alternatively it can only have incided decoration near the base. Few of these vessels were found but their distinctive shape and the fact that they have a hole in the base indicates that it must have served a very specific function.
